  • Extensive consultation is undertaken both internally and externally to industry, resulting in the announcement of five beef sustainability goals in 2023

  • The fourth Annual Update is released at Beef Australia in Rockhampton

  • The Materiality Review process is finalised and recommendations on new priorities are made to RMAC

  • An expert panel on animal husbandry is convened

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Consultative Committee is held over 5 webinars
  • The third Annual Update is released

  • The inaugural Annual Update is released
  • Expert panel on balance of tree and grass cover established to provide evidence-based advice on what indicators industry should use to measure its sustainability performance in this area
  • Second Consultative Committee Forum where the expert panel for the balance of tree and grass cover priority area was announced. An initial stocktake of industry activity related to the Framework was also presented
2017
  • Six key priority areas selected for focus - five proposed by the Consultative Committee, with the sixth selected by the Sustainability Steering Group 
  • The First Consultative Committee formed to continue discussion between those within and outside the beef industry
  • Second Sustainability Steering Group appointed by Red Meat Advisory Council to drive the implementation of the Framework
  • Public consultation phase of the ABSF

  • Deloitte appointed to review what data exists to enable industry to report against draft priority areas

  • An industry technical group identifies priority areas based on perceived importance to the industry and stakeholders
